Avoid taking on unnecessary debt and don't get into debt when you haven't generated the revenue to support that debt. You have to choose what's important, what's vital, what your company needs to survive, and then slowly build on that. I've been in business for myself for four years, and I have no debt. I pay for the things my business needs out of my profit. I manage my expenses carefully and I know that even if the economy changes, I can survive.
