Community Resources Organizations

Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC): The ASBDC is a partnership program uniting enterprise, government, higher education, and local non-profit economic development organizations. It promotes and continuously improves the SBDC network, which delivers nationwide educational assistance to strengthen small business management.

Research Institute for Small and Emerging Business (RISE): RISE enhances decision-making pertaining to the Small Business sector by providing corporations, policymakers, and business and trade organizations with market, policy, and field research on issues impacting the formation and growth of small and emerging businesses.

National Small Business United (NSBU): The NSBU keeps its members up to date on legislation that may help or hinder small business growth through publications, policy forums, conferences and action alerts. The organization takes action on legislative and regulatory issues while helping to shape federal policy in the interests of small business.

United States Chamber of Commerce (USCOC): The USCOC lobbies government, fights for a pro-business Congress, testifies before Congress, and strengthens trade ties with other nations. It also provides briefings, hosts major policy forums, and fights in the courts and challenges unfair guidelines.

National Black Chamber of Commerce (NBCC): The NBCC is the largest trade association in the U.S. that deals strictly with issues of economics and entrepreneurship in the African-American community. The NBCC dedicates itself to economically "empowering and sustaining African-American communities through entrepreneurship and capitalistic activity within the United States".

National Association of Women Business Owners-NYC: NAWBO-NYC is the premier membership organization serving the diverse needs of women entrepreneurs. By providing education, networking opportunities, resources and advocacy we help women business owners to grow, economically, professionally, socially and politically.
