If you ever look at your statement and see a charge you don't recognize or notice you're still being billed for a service you canceled, chances are you want it corrected right away. Some credit card companies require you to write them a letter before they take any action on your behalf.

Three Ways We Can Help
Once you decide to dispute a charge that you have been unable to resolve with the merchant,American Express takes the responsibility to help resolve the dispute fairly. Just call us to initiate an inquiry.
•  If a charge is unrecognized, we'll do everything possible to help you identify it, and if necessary report it as a possible case of fraud. You will never be held responsible for fraudulent charges.
•  If a charge is wrong or for the wrong amount, we will investigate and try to resolve the issue. Our close working relationship with merchants helps us achieve a fair resolution.
•  While a charge is under investigation, you are not responsible for paying it. When our inquiry is complete we will notify you of the outcome.
